How to configure an email account in Outlook XP/2002/2003

Follow the steps below to set up Outlook to retrieve and send email from our mail server. Replace "YourHostedDomainName.com" with your actual domain name.

  • Open Outlook
  • Click "Tools," select "Email Accounts..." This will bring up the Email Accounts wizard
  • Select "Add a new e-mail account", click "Next"
  • In the Server Type prompt, select "POP3," click "Next"
  • Enter the values in the Internet E-mail Settings (POP3):

     

    • Your Name: The name you want to appear in outgoing emails
    • E-mail Address: The email address you want to appear in outgoing email (e.g., you@YourHostedDomainName.com)
    • User Name: Your full email address (e.g., you@YourHostedDomainName.com)
    • Password: Your email account password
    • Incoming mail server (POP3): pop3.YourHostedDomainName.com
    • Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.YourHostedDomainName.com
  • Click "More Settings"
  • Click on the second tab
  • Check "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication"
  • Check "Log on using" radio button

       

    • User Name: Your full email address (e.g., you@YourHostedDomainName.com)
    • Password: Your pop3 account password
  • Click "OK"
  • Click "Next"
  • Click "Finish"
