I get "SQL Server does not exist or access is denied" error when I try to connect to MS SQL database on your server

This error indicates that Enterprise Manager cannot make a connection the remote SQL server.

Check the following:

  • Make sure you are using MS SQL Enterprise Manager 2000. SQL 7.0 Enterprise Manager is not compatible.
  • Make sure TCP/IP is select as the connection protocol
  • Make sure your firewall or router is not blocking port 1750
