How to connect to SQL Server 2000 using Enterprise Manager?

To connect to your Microsoft SQL Server 2000 database using Enterprise Manager to manage your database, simply follow the steps listed below.

  • Open Enterprise Manager, navigate to SQL Server Group (default group)

  • Right Click on SQL Server Group, select "New SQL Server Registration"

  • Type the SQL Server Name and comma with port number(1750)  (found in your hosting MSSQL Manager section of control panel) in the "Available Servers" text box and click "Add." Click "Next"

  • Select SQL Server Authentication as "Authentication Mode." Click "Next"

  • Type in the Login and password (can be found in your database activation email). Click "Next"

  • Click "Next" and "Finish"
